Kyocera's advanced printhead technology
The TASKalfa Pro 15000c features a line type inkjet print head for high-speed single-pass printing that prints 150 pages per minute (A4 size). The inkjet method enables continuous printing of 9,000 sheets (A4 size) per hour while maintaining stable colour quality, without interruption of calibration as seen in electrophotography, or slowing down during thick paper printing.
The TASKalfa Pro 15000c maintains output quality by effectively removing dried ink and dirt from the surface of the print head and keeps it clean at all times. Our unique cleaning solution is fed from a special nozzle at the end of the print head to dissolve the dried ink, which is then applied to the blade to wipe the head surface. With this technology, the printer can print up to 60 million pages without maintenance.
The TASKalfa Pro 15000c constantly monitors the speed that media is passing through the print heads in “real time” to ensure the ink jet heads accurately lay ink dots onto the paper to optimise print quality and prevent colour shift.
The CIS (contact image sensor) senses paper edge position during printing and sends paper position data to the video controller in real time. Using the paper position data, the position accuracy with respect to the paper is suppressed to ± 0.5 mm or less. Using the paper position data, the positional inaccuracy with respect to the paper is suppressed to ± 0.5 mm or less. This achieves high-precision during double-sided printing without using any moving parts. The CIS also detects areas of media and ensures ink is placed only onto the media, and prevents ink from being ejected to areas where paper corners are broken or punched, and prevents image deterioration due to ink adhesion at the transport level.
