    Sustainability has become a driving force in many industries including print. With the involvement of major players in the sector (online printers, commercial printers…) since the early stages of concept development, KNIS has developed an alternative solution to Silver Halide.

    Belharra is an environmentally friendly printer using the Genix PrintBox, a water-based drop on demand inkjet print engine specifically adapted to the photo printing market.

    Belharra has been engineered as being a compact system which reduces the footprint, ecologic impact, and is less polluting compared to existing processes. Optimised ink and electrical consumption together with reduced paper wastage underpins the sustainable qualities of Belharra.

    Belharra is a highly reliable photo printing solution targeting the industrial market. With a duty cycle from 10 million to 40 million photos (10×15) per year, this device can address a large range of printing volumes.

    Printing speeds are adjustable from 1 to 50 m/min and a wide choice of photo formats, the KNIS printing process allows users to automatically print large quantities of individualised documents in a single pass without loss of image quality and with a comparable output to Silver Halide technology.

    Belharra is a webfed printer and can be currently delivered with automatic splicing units to improve the production efficiency.

    Speed, quality, productivity and flexibility, Balharra has it covered.

    Balharra has been designed as a new photo printing system that can be easily integrated into existing production organisations, including workflow, finishing, etc.

    This new photo printer uses the last generation of KYOCERA piezo DOD KJ4B EX1200RC printheads, optimising reliability with less intervention and printing defects together with an automatic quality control and correction systems. 

    Add to this, an ergonomic and dynamic user interface maximises operator efficiency.

    Finally, Belharra proposes a range of different options which are available based on customer requirements.
